Extreme Potato Counter

Hello all!
I'm here to celebrate a game played all throughout Neopia; a game that is
loved by all; a game that involves a tightly knit ball of starch compounds,
farmers, and other extreme, wacky oodles of fun! Yes, I am, of course,
talking about Extreme Potato Counter!
In this article, I will refer to you, my fantastic readers, as spud
counters. Because I can.
So: buckle up; sit back; and enjoy!
Intro
We left the story where Alton Moughbry, potato counter extraordinaire, was
happily counting his potatoes in his farm, in a tight little corner of Meri
Acres. In a cruel twist of fate, he was fired by TNT, in favour of somebody
'cooler'. Unfortunately, due to skill shortages in Neopia, they had to make
do with a dressed up Wocky who says 'TUBULAR' a bit too much.
Objectives
Yes, Extreme Potato Counter is almost like the original, however, it is
EXTREME!
The main objective of the game is to, like the original, well, count
potatoes. Except in this version, being EXTREME and all, the potatoes fly
across the screen, and some foreign objects do as well.
Let me stress?
Immediately after you start the game, potatoes will fly across the screen.
Note that they move quite slowly, and there are only a few of them; usually around 10. After each round of flying potato wackiness, a screen pops up, where
you enter your guess as to how many potatoes there were.
Let me say: this is
not the time to get a drink, go potty, or get more jellybabies, as
there is about a 15 second delay before *BAAH* game over. So, enter your
score, enter it correctly, and enter it quickly! As the game progresses,
more potatoes come, and they fly across faster. Another noticeable
difference as the game progresses is the introduction of foreign objects ?
other vegetables which are not potatoes. Make sure you only count the
potatoes.
Tips
Note: these tips may not work for everyone
1) Focus on the middle of the screen, and only notice when potatoes
come in. This will make sure that you do not follow an individual potato
across the screen. Following an individual object across the screen will
distract you, and often throw you off your count.
2) Have a calculator on hand. Firstly, set it so that when you
press the "equals" sign (=), the number on the display goes up by 1. You can
do this by first turning on your calculator, subtracting 1, which gives you
-1, then adding one, which gives you 0. When you start the game, every time
you see a potato, you press equals once, and at the end, you read the
display to find the answer!
3) (This tip submitted by sheepmad4eva!) Sometimes, it may be helpful to "zap" the potatos with your calculator. Instead of
pressing when you see, point your calculator at the screen and "zap" in the
direction of the potatos, like a remote control. It may sound silly but it really
improved my score.
4) An alternative to the tip above is to have a sheet of paper next
to you, and each time you see a potato, you make a mark, or a tally. I have
problems with this as it distracts me from the game.
5) Play EPC on fullscreen. It makes focusing on the middle of the
screen (#1) easier, as the potatoes are bigger, and are easier to see.
Cheats:
As far as I know of, there are (currently) no cheats. :( If I am wrong,
please Neomail me!
I've come to the end of my little guide on Extreme Potato Counter. So I bid
you farewell, readers, and happy spud counting!
