| » Daily Dare Staff Tournament and Faerie Xweetok
There is a new avatar out for participating in the Staff Tournament predictions:

Go to the Staff Tournament prediction page and submit your picks. People have gotten the avatar both from manually selecting their choices, as well as randomizing (there is a handy "randomize" button for those who don't want to pick manually).
The avatar event appears at the top of the page after you press the button to submit your picks. The page does NOT reload, but scroll upwards and the SHH event should have appeared
We do not advise you get this avatar on your side accounts because this event has potential prizes for participation, and we do not know if your cleared picks are ultimately saved or not.
» Xweetok - Faerie
Update: A double avatar day! This Faerie Xweetok avatar was just released. Thanks to everyone who sent in a note! (p.s. YES, we still plan on going on hiatus. If you update your avatar lists, etc., you should redownload the static files.)

In anticipation of our upcoming hiatus, we've created a few pages that allow you to download your avatars, dailies, fonts and packrat lists as static HTML files.
You should download each page to your computer using File > Save Page As. This way, you can access the file when our site goes on hiatus (and also when you don't have internet access!).
We recommend that you save these files before January 10th, 2010. We cannot guarantee that these files will still be available after that date.
If you have friends with an account here who may not be aware of the upcoming hiatus, please remind them to stop by and download their account info!

| » December + Unreleased AotA Avatar!
December is upon us, and of course that means the Advent Calendar :)
Recall that for the past two years, our Winter Site Theme stats have shown that collecting every day is the probable factor to earning the Neopets Winter Site Theme at the end of the month.
The Plastic Fir avatar was given out today, and we will probably see the Seasonal Attack Pea avatar later this month too.

| » Thanksgiving
A happy early Thanksgiving to all who are celebrating the holiday :)
We have moved the 10th Birthday avatar into the "Retired" category, as it was confirmed in the most recent Editorial that it will not be given out again.
 
The 2009 Games Master Challenge has also begun! You can now add the Games Master Challenge as a regular daily on your personal Daily To-Do List.
For comprehensive guides on each day's game tasks, check out our affiliate Jellyneo and their event coverage!
Finally, this is a reminder that in mid-December (about a month away), Avatarlog will be going on extended hiatus.
Closer to that time, we'll be providing tools to help you export your website data (avatars, fonts, etc) off the site :) You can read our October 2nd news post for more information on our hiatus. |

| » Stock Market Avatar
We've added the new Stock Market avatar to the checklists and you can now mark it off on your Avatarlog. It is filed under "Games" since TNT lists the Stock Market as a game:

To get this avatar, you need to have at least 1 million NP under "Holdings - Paid" in your Stock Portfolio. Keep in mind that you can purchase up to 1,000 stocks a day, and only those above 15/share are purchasable.
We earlier had down that a negative % Change was needed, but thanks to eevee133239 and nafka for confirming that this is not necessary!
Punchbag Sid was also in the Battledome earlier today for about 20 minutes (~2:38pm - 2:55pm). Thanks to everyone who sent us a notice or email regarding his appearance, and congratulations to everyone who caught (and fought) him!

Happy Symol Day! In the past, we have found that a more-than-usual number of people report getting the related Symol avatar on Groundhog's Day in February.
Maybe TNT is nice enough to "up" the avatar chances today as well? (After all, Symol Day only comes once a year.) You can visit the Symol Hole here - good luck!
