If you are having a problem logging in, please try the following solutions before contacting a staff member for help :)

1. Check Correct Password & Username

Recall that a password of ' coolpassword' is NOT the same as 'coolpassword' (without the leading space). Make sure that the password you are typing is correct with spaces, capitalizations, etc.

If you forgot your password, you can request a copy of it by email here.

2. Check Your Account is Activated

Your account needs to be activated before you can log into it. You should have received an activation code either by email, or on the page after you clicked the 'Register' button. This code should then have been used on the Activate page to activate your account.

If you did not activate your account, you can either have your code resent on this page, or you can email the address activation@avatar.starried.net to have your account manually activated.

3. Clear Cookies & Browser Cache

Especially if you were logged in in the past but your cookie expired, a full browser cache or 'stuck cookie' might be causing the problem.

To clear your cache, go to Tools > Internet Options > Delete Files > Delete Offline Content. (Note that those options are for IE; they vary slightly in other browsers).

To reset your cookies, go to Tools > Internet Options > Delete Cookies.

4. Firewalls/Anti-virus

If you have settings that only allow certain websites to set cookies when you are browsing the Internet, make sure it is set so that http://avatar.starried.net is allowed to set cookies, otherwise we cannot keep your account logged in.

5. Try Visitor Account

If you are still having problems logging in after trying the above solutions, please try to log in using the visitor account (the username is visitor and the password will be password).

If you are able to log into the Visitor account successfully, but still cannot log into your own account, then there is a problem with your individual account. In this case, please email us so we can look into the problem :)

If you cannot log into the Visitor account, then there is a problem with your browser accepting/storing cookies from our website.
